JOB SUMMARY

At Luella's, we believe great hospitality extends beyond our dining rooms. Our Catering Delivery Drivers play an important role in creating memorable experiences by ensuring our guests receive their catering orders accurately, professionally, and on time.

This is an on-call, as-needed position with no guarantee of hours. Drivers are contacted based on catering demand and business needs. The ideal candidate is dependable, punctual, organized, and enjoys interacting with guests while representing the Luella's brand in the community.

RESPONSIBILITIES

GUEST EXPERIENCE & HOSPITALITY

• Deliver catering orders in a friendly, professional, and hospitable manner
• Represent Luella's with a positive attitude and excellent guest service
• Communicate professionally with guests regarding delivery arrival times and order details
• Assist with light setup of catering orders when requested.
• Address guest concerns or questions appropriately and communicate issues to management
• If personal vehicle is used, must be clean, free of excessive odors, smoke, or conditions that could impact food quality or guest experience and must be in safe operating condition
• Uphold Luella's standards of hospitality and professionalism in every guest interaction

SPECIFIC POSITION EXECUTION

• Safely transport catering orders to various locations while maintaining food quality and presentation
• Verify order accuracy prior to leaving the restaurant and upon delivery
• Load and unload catering items, including food, beverages, supplies, and equipment
• Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures during transportation and delivery
• Maintain communication with management regarding delivery status, delays, or issues

TEAM AND CULTURE CONTRIBUTION

• Demonstrate reliability and professionalism when accepting scheduled deliveries
• Support a team-first environment and contribute positively to the culture of the organization
• Maintain flexibility to assist with varying catering needs and schedules

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will possess at least 90% of the following:

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must possess a valid North Carolina driver's license
• Must have a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience
• Must have access to a reliable personal vehicle suitable for catering deliveries if company vehicle is not available
• Must provide proof of current automobile insurance
• Must be able to pass a North Carolina Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check
• No DUI/DWI convictions
• No reckless driving convictions
• No excessive moving violations
• Clean and safe driving history
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
• Ability to manage time effectively
• Previous delivery, catering, or hospitality experience is preferred but not required
• Continued employment in this position is contingent upon maintaining a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current automobile insurance coverage
• Must have a reliable smartphone or GPS/navigational equipment

PHYSICAL & SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS

• This is an on-call, as-needed position with no guarantee of hours
• Schedule will vary based on catering business demands and may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to load, unload, and transport catering equipment and supplies
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and climb stairs as needed during deliveries
• Must be comfortable driving in various weather and traffic conditions

• $10 per hour + tips when applicable
• $20 per hour if no tip is paid by guest
