Mabel’s Market & Bistro | Downtown Davis

Mabel’s Market & Bistro is looking for a warm, attentive and dependable Server to help us create a welcoming and memorable experience for our guests throughout breakfast, lunch and dinner service.

This is a great position for someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality, likes connecting with people and takes pride in making guests feel cared for. Our service style is thoughtful, relaxed and personal — polished without feeling formal.

• Welcome guests warmly and help them feel comfortable from the moment they arrive
• Provide full table service during breakfast, lunch and dinner
• Learn our food, wine, beer, coffee and mocktail offerings
• Guide guests through the menu and make thoughtful recommendations
• Take accurate food and beverage orders
• Deliver food and drinks with care and attention to timing
• Check in with guests throughout their meal without hovering
• Clear, reset and maintain tables throughout service
• Coordinate closely with the kitchen, bar and market teams
• Help keep the dining room clean, organized and welcoming
• Process guest checks accurately and efficiently
• Assist with opening, closing and side work as needed
• Help create a smooth handoff between breakfast, lunch and dinner service

• Is naturally warm, friendly and attentive
• Enjoys taking care of people and creating a great guest experience
• Is calm, organized and dependable
• Communicates clearly and works well as part of a team
• Can manage several tables while remaining gracious and present
• Pays attention to the small details that make service feel special
• Is curious about food, wine and hospitality
• Is comfortable learning and talking about our menu
• Is willing to help wherever needed during service
• Has restaurant or hospitality experience — but extensive fine-dining experience is not required

You don’t need to be a formal fine-dining server. You might simply be someone who loves people, enjoys food and hospitality and has a natural instinct for making others feel welcome.

Our servers are an important part of the entire Mabel’s team and work closely with the kitchen, bar and market staff to make sure each guest has a wonderful experience from beginning to end.
